In the world there are not many peaks, mountains that we can reach by car. But at 1818 meters there is Pico do Areeiro, one of the highest peaks in Madeira.
Hop into our Land Rover 4×4 from your accommodation in Funchal or in the outskirts and we’ll take you above the clouds to see the sunrise.
Diving under the clouds, you will notice that the mountains are covered in lush vegetation, including heather, moss and the impressive endemic flowers (massaroco), known as the pride of wood.
With a cup of hot coffee in hand, give life a toast before returning to the vehicle to return to Funchal.
